Homemade Hot Cocoa

Skip the preservatives and sugar loaded store- bought hot chocolate and give this recipe a try!

A big thank you to my amazing friend Sarah for sharing her healthy hot cocoa on the blog this week. With cooler weather setting in, a nice warm cup of guilt-free hot cocoa is surely welcomed.

1 TBSP cocoa powder

1/3 cup water

1/8 TSP vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups preferred milk (I use whole or almond milk)

**to add sweetness you can use 1tsp sugar or 5 dark chocolate chips

Boil water and cocoa powder stirring constantly (if adding sugar or dark chocolate chips, add here) have your milk ready, once bubbling add in your milk and vanilla extract, lower your heat and let simmer until you reach the perfect temperature. Add marshmallows if desired!

*makes 2 cups!
