This week we collaborated to bring you some ideas on meal prepping for your upcoming week. Taking a few hours on a weekend to prepare healthy meals and snacks can go a long way to helping you achieve your health, fitness or weight loss goals. It’s also a great method to save time and be efficient.

Breakfast: I always make an easy, to- go breakfast. This week, I decided to make granola. I can eat the granola on its own or add it to milk or yogurt. | Granola recipe on blog
Lunch: By simply baking a few chicken breasts, you can have a quick base for lunch. Use the chicken breast on a piece of bread or toss it on a salad.
Burritos can be made in advance, put in a ziplock bag and kept in the freezer. | Recipe to come
Dinner: I always make dinner on Sunday nights. Whatever I make for dinner that night I make a double batch. This week I am making okra with beef and a side of brown rice.
Freezer crockpot meals can be quickly prepared in freezer ziplock bags. Cutting meat and vegetables and dividing them up into bags saves a lot of time and cleanup for a busy weeknight. | Recipe to come
Snacks: Having healthy snacks that can be packed and transported easily can be a life saver, especially with little ones. This week I am making apple pie pits | Recipe to come. I can toss a few in a baggy and I am ready for the park! Here are some other snack ideas:
Hard boiled eggs. A high protein snack and so easy to make. Just boil them for 10 minutes and store in the refrigerator.
Pre- cut vegetables like broccoli, cucumbers, green peppers, carrots and celery. Store in air tight containers for a quick snack on the go.
Banana oat cookies or banana oat muffins topped with natural peanut butter are easy to make and are a great replacement for high sugar granola bars. | Recipes to come
Peanut butter & honey rolls can also be made in advance, put in snack bags and kept in the freezer. My girls eat them frozen! | Recipes to come
By having a few of these foods ready to go, I know I am ready to cruise into the week!!! With a few hours of prep you can have a week’s worth of healthy goodies at your fingertips. We would love to know your tips, what do you do to get ready for the week?
